The Magnum 4D game is one of the oldest game in Malaysia. Owned and operated by Magnum Incorporated Berhad, the game requires the player to pick a 4 digit number. As it is a 4 digit format, that means there are 10,000 possibilities available. The player can choose from 0000 to 9999. There are 3 draw dates every week, namely Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Draw take place in these days every week throughout the year. There are certain days when there are special draws. This would usually take place on a Tuesday when there is a public holiday or the birthday of a prominent figure in the country where a special draw date take place, otherwise the usual 3 days are default gaming days.

On every draw date, there are 5 main categories. They are first prize, second price, third prize, special prize and consolation prize. One 4 digit number are drawn for the first, second and third prizes while special and consolation prizes will draw ten 4-digit numbers. This means that on each draw day, there will be twenty three (23) 4-digit numbers picked. If the number that you placed on is picked within any of the 23 numbers, then you have won a prize.

The minimum for each number picked is RM1 and the amount will be exponentially calculated as per the total winning prize. That means that if you decide to place an RM5 and the number is picked at the first prize, that means your total winnings would be RM5 x RM2,500. Therefore the more the amount you place, the more your potential winnings will be.

You can also use permutations which means a 4-digit number is placed on all the possibilities of that number. This is known as mBox. That means for the number 0001, there are 4 possibilities, which are 0001, 0010, 0100 and 1000. If you decide to buy mBox for a minimum of RM1, that means your total would be RM1 x 4 (4 possibilities) = RM4.

There are 2 forecasts available to place, namely Big and Small forecasts. Prize winnings for both the forecasts differ in that Big forecasts are payable for all the numbers picked and drawn while Small forecast payout are allocated only to the first, second and third prizes. The prize structure for winnings are as follow:

Big Forecast

Small Forecast

First Prize

RM2,500

RM3,500

Second Prize

RM1,000

RM2,000

Third Prize

RM500

RM1,000

Special Prize

RM200

N/A

Consolation Prize

RM60

N/A

To play the game, you have to:

1.

Choose a 4-digit number. You can choose a few numbers which are entirely up to you. For instance, you picked 2222 and 4444 as your desired numbers.
2.

Decide which forecast you would like to place on. Either on Big forecast, Small forecast or both.
3.

Decide on the amount you would like to place on. In this case, assume that you have decide to place an RM1 on Big forecast and RM1 on Small forecast for the number 2222 and RM1 on Big Forecast and RM1 on Small forecast on the number 4444

The number that was picked on the draw date shows that the number 2222 is picked as the second prize while 4444 is drawn into the Consolation Prize category. That means your total winnings would be:

For the number 2222:

RM1 x RM1,000 (Big forecast) + RM1 x RM2,000 (Small forecast) = RM3,000

For the number 4444:

RM1 x RM200 (Special prize) = RM200

Your place of RM1 on Small forecast will not win anything because Small forecast do not pay out for Special and Consolation prizes.
